Columbia will hold a public hearing on the Terminal Building Loop Road project at Columbia Regional Airport, with funding split 90% FAA and 10% local sales tax.
Columbia will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 6, 2026, for the proposed Terminal Building Loop Road project at Columbia Regional Airport.
The city says the project is estimated at $859,381 and would be funded 90% by FAA money and 10% by transportation sales tax funds. The hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
According to earlier city and airport materials, the work would reconstruct about 650 linear feet of the terminal loop road and be phased to maintain access during construction. The airport has also been pursuing related terminal dining and parking improvements as passenger traffic has grown.
Columbia Regional Airport recorded its biggest passenger year in 2025, with a 17% increase and 242,167 travelers, according to prior local reporting. That growth has helped drive the broader expansion push now moving through city review.
The April 6 hearing is the formal public step in the project review process. If approved, the loop-road work would advance alongside other airport upgrades intended to improve access and operations at COU.
