The Southern California Association of Governments says its Regional Council voted to allocate $9.6 million in federal transit funding for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to LA Metro.

The FTA announced on March 3 that it was investing $100.3 million in transit systems in World Cup host cities. Metro also said in March that it would coordinate the use of $9.6 million in federal funding for tournament service.
