Tangipahoa Water District says it has lifted the boil advisory for Eastern Heights after lab tests found the water safe.

Tangipahoa Water District has rescinded the limited precautionary boil advisory for Eastern Heights after Louisiana Department of Health lab testing found the water safe for consumption.

The district said storms on April 6 broke a 4-inch water main serving the area. The advisory had covered Eastern Heights Water System customers on Hwy 1054 South from Hwy 16 to Vicari Road, along with several connecting streets.

According to the district’s alerts page, the boil notice was lifted on April 7. The district said the rescission followed the testing results and ended the precautionary notice.

WDSU reported the advisory while it was in effect on April 6. The district’s official update now says the water is safe again.

The notice was a short-lived local service alert tied to storm damage and routine public-health testing, with no further restrictions reported in the official rescission.
