Montenegro’s ecology ministry announced a press conference on April 3 focused on new environmental investment and the EU’s Chapter 27 process.

Montenegro’s Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development announced a press conference in Podgorica on Friday centered on new investment in the environment and the closing of Chapter 27.

The ministry said the event would take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Government of Montenegro Press Centre, with Minister Damjan Ćulafić expected to speak.

The announcement comes as Chapter 27 remains one of the key files in Montenegro’s European Union accession process. Recent reporting in March said the ministry had been working through deadlines and had already provided the European Commission with a complete normative framework for the chapter.

Earlier coverage also showed Ćulafić describing Chapter 27 as both a major challenge and an opportunity, especially for new business ideas and investment tied to environmental policy.

The press conference title, “A New Phase of Investment in the Environment and Closing Chapter 27,” suggests the ministry is trying to link funding, regulatory work and EU integration into one message. Additional details from the event were not immediately included in the announcement.
