An exploratory analysis grouped 8,609 normal adult anterior-corneal maps into three shape clusters, with a defocus-related coefficient providing the clearest separation. The authors propose the clusters as candidate categories for future biosynthetic implants, but implant selection and patient outcomes were not tested.
