Witnessed cardiac arrests tied to better EMS resuscitation outcomes
In 1,198 non-shockable out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, 13.9% had any documented return of spontaneous circulation and 12.2% maintained it through EMS care. Witnessed arrests and PEA were associated with higher odds in adjusted models, while the study could not establish cause and effect.
