Jellyfish study links bacteria and arginine to arm regrowth
In young moon jellyfish, treatments that changed the animals’ bacterial community coincided with more frequent arm regeneration. The results point to a possible role for arginine-related metabolism, but model predictions and short-term laboratory tests do not establish how the process works.
