Shorter crowns showed more localized implant stress in a model
A three-model finite-element study found that the reduced crown-to-implant ratio was associated with the highest modeled stress values in the abutment and implant, while stress was concentrated in smaller areas. The authors favored the shorter configuration but said further laboratory and clinical testing is needed.
